new sails - how much?

hello all,

I am considering buying new sails (one main and one roller genua) for
our Vega.
Norwegian sailmakers want approx. 2100 euro.
Two reefs and UV protection included.

I could drive to Sweden, Denmark, Germany
or even Holland - or even UK to fetch them if the price was right.

Does anybody know how much new sails cost
in any of the countries mentioned?

Hi Ole

A new set of sails (Main with three reefing points and a rolling genoa) costs about £1000 in the UK from our favourite sailmaker (Southern Sails). He knows the Vega very well and makes excellent sails.

Kind Regards

What about mail order?

www.baconsails.com has one Vega Main that is new/not used condition for US$795.00 According to XE.com this is 674 Euro. Shipping cost might be expensive, but could still be a good price. They have many jibs in stock. I'm but not sure if any would fit your needs. You will have to search through them.

Just a suggestion,

Hello Anne og Ole Marius!

Have a look at Boding Segel in Sweden at www.boding.se
I bought my roller genua from Boding in 2002 and was very satisfied.
Price oktober-2003: Main 8400 SEK. Roller Genua 9000 SEK.

Hi Bertil

I own Vega Southern Comfort V1703 but I will be going to the IFR in a
HR Monsun (Helena) with my friend (Cai Christainsen) from Denmark. They
are a lovely boat and seem like a larger Vega. I wish I had a nive
Monsun 31 but need until a very good one comes along for very little
money!

Kind Regards
