HI All,
Looking for some advice hoping to buy new sails for our vega, have had
variuos quotes with a short list of dolphin sails, cruisader sails and
hyde sails. Has anyone has sails from these and what were they like.
Were hoping to get a cruising set with a racing cut to themm for club
racing.

Any help experiences or advice would be welcome.

They're not on your list, but have you tried Southern Sails in Bournemouth? We've had a Vega mainsail and a Cruising Chute from them; very impressed with both and at competitive prices too. They've plenty of experience doing Vega sails so if its a 'standard, sail you're after, they won't need measurements and generally will offer a discount to VAGB members. IIRC, the chap's called Paul.

Try Quay Sails in Poole. They know teh Vega well and give a decent Vega Discount for Club Members. Ask for Paul, mention VAGB

Although not a Vega owner, I have a set of Crusader sails and a set of
Hyde sails for my current pride and joy. (An E-Boat)

If I were to spend my money again, I'd be returning to Hyde - their
sails just seem better made. I'm not saying that there is anything poor
about the Crusader sails, just the Hyde ones seem 'nicer'. (I've been
sailing for 29 years)

On the side of Crusader, they do manufacture them in the UK, unlike
Hyde. (But the Hyde set are far, far closer to my class rules maximum
dimensions)

Hi, I have a brand new (never used) 150% furling jib for Vega. This sail is made by Airforce and I paid $900 in 2004. It is yours for $500!
