Hey all! just signed up for an account and I like what I see here so far. I've been sailing since I was a little kid and just got back into action with a little trailer sailor (Luger Sea Breeze 16) that fits my truck and wallet capacity

any tips for a trailer sailor? getting to know a mini cabin boat has been a learning from race boats and bigger vessels

Pic related, my and my brother in the Luger rendezvousing with a friend's 25' paceship

I sailed a Montgomery 15. I found it like back pack tent camping. Used a lot of my camping gear as it was light weight and fit the limited space. I'd pick up 1 or 2 of the solar LUCI lights. They will supply all the cabin light you might need and you just leave them in the sun for a couple of hours. I used battery powered nav lighting even though you do not need to display navigation lighting. All you need is a bright light to shine on the sail. An LED flashlight will do. Find some good cushions for the cockpit. My cockpit was big enough I could lie down on the bench seats and sleep under the stars. It is a great experience if you are nimble and enjoy the outdoor on the water backpack experience.

@fred1diver, the Luger was a kit boat, and this one isn't terribly built. I got that bad boy for $325 literally all the money in our pockets .

as to the LUCI lights jssailem I've got a AAA light in the cabin that is velcroed to the top of the cabin and pretty much covers all the light I need...but a light that can recharge in the sun is awesome! If i understand you right I need to buy one. luckily the boat had all the running lights and I have a 19AH AGM battery powering LED marker lights common bus wired with 20A breakers. what did you do for a head though?

The Luci lights (google it) come in standard, flashing or colored. Any where from $11 to $24.

When I did not use the backpack hiking method I had a porta-potty. You can find them on this sight.

Worked great and your purchase through the site keeps the site going.

sounds like a good plan with the potty. the lights can really be a nice accent when im anchored, I also wanna get party lights. a lot of speedboats tie of for the national cherry festival up here, and I wanna bring tuggy out just to make a show. it gets attention because its ugly

You should also bring it out on Movie night. Can you see the Park movie screen from the water? We had a great time up in Traverse City a few summers ago. My wife grew up just north of Kalamazoo.

it depends on how they rotate the screen, it's not facing the water often these days during film fest, but I'd love to anchor for one of the fests (like the film fest or cherry) im 3 miles away. where in Kalamazoo did you wife grow up? I went to western

This is my boat while watching 4th of July fireworks. I heard someone on the VHF refer to me as Clark Griswold. Another club member plans to one-up me next year. Gotta love it!
