In search of my next boat Palm Harbor, FL
Yeah... As many people do I ended up buying based on price, being a cheap b@$tard. I did visit my local sail shop, of which we have many of here in St Petersburg. I could have a custom sail made for about $800, or they sell a foreign made sail, for a couple hundred less. But since the guy is a friend, he told me that most of the "online" sails, are made in the same couple shops, and I could save even more if I went that route. I have a 22' boat and $800 is more than I spent for the boat. So I started the search, and came across Peak Sails. I really couldn't find many comments about them, but their prices were the best. I called them and asked for a couple added features over their base model. Phil at Peak sent me a quote. I had a couple questions, email questions got answered fastest, and it did take a couple calls, before I got ahold of Phil directly. But he was very helpful. I placed my order, and 4 weeks later I got my sail. I had a great experience, and I feel bad for any one who has had problems, with Peak, or any online retailer. As someone who works very close with many local businesses who want to have an online presence, because they think it's will be easier, do get a warning from me.
