New S2 8.0B Owner

Hello all! I purchased a 1978 S2 8.0B last week. It is on hard, and looks to be in great shape, with a dedicated owner who was selling due to health reasons. Hopefully the Zephyr 15hp Saildrive fires up when we get it in the water next week. It is in Muskegon now, and I need to sail it up to Pentwater (50 miles) for fall berthing and winter storage after that. Then up to Ludington where I live in 2015. I am happy to join the S2 club, and any advise would be appreciated! :dance:

Welcome aboard Keith! The 8.0 is a nice boat. A friend of mine had one a few years back. You'll enjoy her no doubt.

Keith, I owned a 1984 8.0B for about 10 years and really loved it as a single and sometimes double handed girl sailor. I had a 15hp outboard on a drop down transom mount, never any problems, even in light air moving the boat along. We now have the 11.0A, but I can see the time coming when we downsize again, and I'd definitely look at an 8.0.B! Welcome aboard.

I have just acquired a 1978 S2 with the OMC Zephyr engine. Boat has been sitting for a decade and I am going through the fuel system before I try running her. Can you tell me what carb is on the 15S11C engine so I can try and find a rebuild kit?
