New Race in SoCal

There is a new race from Long Beach with a Friday, June 29th start. It will go to either Newport Beach, Dana Point or San Diego from the same start. There are a variety of classes including cruising and cruising non-spinnaker.

This is the Border Run 2. I did the one in March from Newport Beach to San Diego and it was great fun. This is a good race for any one and a nice one for those who want to get their toes wet with racing without getting all nuts about it. I'm doing this one too.

Rick.....just a little over a month away and it sure doesn't seem like there is much interest in the Border Run-2 so far. We're signed up, and looking forward to it.

I certainly hope there is more participation. It's just about as flexible a venue as I have ever seen and deserves lots of support from the sailing community.

Well, so far there are 3 signed up for the run to Newport, 5 for the run to Dana Point, 6 signed up for the run to San Diego, and 3 signed up for the run around the Coronado's Island.

Sounds like a fun race is why we signed up, hopefully some are just sitting on the fence maybe waiting for pay-day to get their registration fee paid.
