I need to replace the stainles steel two blade prop for my oday 27 sailcoat with a yanmar 2gm20f engine . what propeller do you recomend?

Why?

We need some more info. Is your 2 bladed prop damaged or lost? Are you looking for a change in performance? Are you having problems with your current prop?I'd also advise a visit to the archives, since prop selection is frequently discussed.DavidLady Lillie

David:the reason of the change is that the actual one is damaged, it is a 13 1/2" two blade stainles steel,I have no idea of the pitch, the performance is good but since I have to replace it maybe I can get something better. Also since I live in Mexico, I dont know where to get te replacement in the Houston,TX area.thanks

Stainless prop.

Hello Javier,Is the current two blade a fixed stainless prop? Not heard of one that small is why I ask. I would think that in order to reduce your cost for a new propeller you would consider a bronze unit. I do not have the vessel info showing what diameter is available but I would assume you can obtain the need info from the boat. You will need to provide any and all dimension data from the prop. Ie. Diameter and pitch and bore for the shaft diameter in the boat. You will need to supply the clearance the current 13 ¼” two blade has to the hull. You will need to provide the reduction gear the transmission is equipped with. This will allow most prop shops to run the calculations to size the prop. You can down load our recommendation sheet from our site and we would be happy to try to calculate the prop you need or take that info to any prop shop and they should be able to help you.
