Thank you to C Jones for the ordering info on the high thrust, 6 pitch prop.
Ups dropped it off last night and I installed it today. Took a ride this evening and very pleased with the results: the boat can now ease up to the dock under power, slow and even stop!
With the 8 pitch the boat was moving too fast even at idle and when I'd put it in reverse all I got was bubbles because the prop couldn't bite due to the pitch. Boat is 5k lbs.
Also got a 3/8" alchohol safe fuel line (w/o fittings) in the defender warehouse sale for 8 bucks.

Good choice on that prop. Alcohol safe fuel lines? Is that a new gimmick? Really, what are the features vs the old just gasoline lines.

Made from a different material. I didn't know there was a problem until a neighbor that has long spells between uses asked for help with his motor. I checked the inline filter and there was hard black bits in it that I had no idea where it came from.
We fixed a leak in the line to the pump and it ran so I thought all was good. He had more problems so asked a real mecahic neighbor to look at it and the fuel line was deteriorated inside and that's where the black stuff in the filter came from.

Not even in the last 10 Years Would I Count On

We have had issues with stuff that was less than eight years old

Most will say alcohol safe or somthing similar if it does not don't count on it

Even if the Fuel Line is Alcohol Safe

are all of the other rubber pieces in your engines fuel system?

unfortunately that's not true. Especially for marine engines. Ethanol is playing merry hell with boats all over the country lately. I strongly suggest you replace fuel hoses this year as part of your maintenance cycles.
