New Port Hatch Gasket

Just wanted to say how awesome the gasket is that I ordered from SBO. The gasket is sold by the foot and "molded" to fit in the groove around the hatch and then flared out to better cover any void. The install took 5 minutes and I am amazed at how well designed the gasket is. I will now be replacing all of my port gaskets with SBO's brand. I am a perfectionist and it takes a lot to please me when it comes to how well something is built/designed.

Phil, will this work on my vintage Hunter 30's ports and deck hatches? If so could you send me the stock number and will place an order. The hatches and ports are all in good physical shape other than the gaskets.

Excellent question wish I knew the answer. Is there any easy way to tell such as a makers mark somewhere on them. They appear to be the originals on a 77 if that is any sort of help. Will be aboard next weekend and can look for manufacturers marks at that point.

Take pictures and post 'em here, we'll know from seeing them.

SBO means the chandlery on this website. Sail Boat Owners. :doh:

I bought the gaskets for my 1981 Hunter 36 from the chandlery on this website. My hatches are made by Gray. The company's name is molded/raised in the frame. Make sure you get enough. I was shocked when I went to measure the circumfrence at nearly 5ft for one porthole. I will take a picture Tuesday when I am back on the boat. Until I have to do this work thing to afford the boat thing.
