Catalina Capri 22 Albany, Oregon
Originally i think they were 2 companies and Capri got bought out, or maybe went under and Catalina bought the molds? Anyway, Capris are now made by Catalina. Capri is somewhat "sportier" and IMO more of a performance boat than a standard Catalina 22 is. Also, there's no swing keel version of the Capri models as far as I know; fin or wing keel, standard or tall rig. I haven't seen a Catalina 22 Sport so I can't say how it compares to the Capri 22 or the "standard" Catalina 22 but it looks closer to the Capri 22 in the pictures I've seen, only with the swing keel.

Catalina 22, especially with a pop top, has way more headroom than a Capri 22.

Capri 22 (at least my tall rig) can sail circles around most of the Catalina 22's on our lake.

Catalina C-22 MK-II Parrish, FL
Ditto what Chris said. The new Catalina-22 Sport is only available in the swing keel version, (the swing keel is made of fiberglass, SS, and lead, GREAT improvement over the old cast iron keels!). It was made to comply with the "one design class rules". The Catalina-22 MK-II is a different hull from the old versions. I had an original version and we now have the MK-II version. For cruising, it's MUCH better. A lot more room, wider, more headroom. We love it! Catalina-22's are available in swing, wing, and fin keel versions.
