I am purchasing an 86 H23 and i have a couple of questions for you all. 1) I have a trailer for it but does anybody know the dimensions from keel to the bottom so I can have the vertical runs made without taking it out of the water to measure? 2) The electrical system is how many volts? and will it supply a small refridgerator(it has two batterys but i don't know how they are connected)? Is it easy for a single sailor to sail(in the Intercoastal Waterway? Any advice on the boat would be great. P.S. you guys do a great job helping out. Keep it up. Ron

Ron my h23 is sitting in my drive way , on its trailer, I will be happy to measure, but am not sure exactly what it is you need to know, as far as the batteries, and refrigerator, there was a lengthy discussion here recently about refrigerators and options, the consensus seems to be on a boat this size your best option is a good cooler and ice, I have no info about icw, but since is is a shoal draft boat and lots of the ditch is shallow it would seem to me to work fine , hope u enjoy your boat, if u like you can email me at mmsailor@aol.com and I will do the meausrements, for you , regards Mike B

I am not sure what you are asking about the keel length, but I suspect it has to do with getting the boat back on the trailer. I had a major problem the 1st time I tried, but ultimately brain defeated brawn! When hauling out, I tie a line on the aft tnd of the carpet covered wood skids that the boat slides onto the trailer on. I attach a fishing float to the line 18" from the skid....nbever had a haul out problem since. Hope that helps. gary bridi

Ron, Welcome to the world of H-23. I keep my boat in the water in Port Orange (Daytona Beach) Florida. Just a bit to the north of you. It's a great boat. With the 27" draft you can run aground in the ICW (sand bars) if you are not careful. Maybe we should put together a H-23 rendezvous some time. The mosquito lagoon would be a good location. Have fun!!!! Dave Laing
