Nice gift! When and where will you splash it?

I always wanted to do this, but I'm not sure how festive a horizontal string of lights would look in the mast storage rack! Merry Christmas from the frozen north.:)

I don't think it's Dave's boat. It's captioned it was sent to him. Unless he meant Santa sent it to him?

Great picture. Screw the HOA, and the only sad part for me is that she is on the hard.

Not my boat but wanted to share this. Ok folks, send me Christmas photos and I will post or post them here so we see how many talented folks we have.

Dave,
I showed the picture to Shirley. Amazingly, she not only didn't divorce me for suggesting it but actually said the catamaran would be more practical. Really? Practical? I fell in love all over again!

You know, this is like torture for us northern frozen water people...and I've always despised the fact that some folks celebrate Christmas in July. I think that thought process has come to an end, as I want to be in a lighted parade like these. I'm leaning towards convincing, at least a hardy percentage, of owners on Cayuga Lake to doing something similar, but maybe in August of 2017...a parade of lights...stinkpot or ragmen alike. I am so jealous I can't contain my thoughts.

Blowmeaway;

Coming off NY 17 going under a railroad bridge (forgot the town we went thru but clearance only 2 inches left to clear rr bridge with me standing out on the road watching to make sure we cleared with a cop laughing) to Ithaca with a cradled Capri 26 on a construction trailer behind my truck in late March colder than dirt while it was 75 back in Virginny. There were two routes one for cars and the other truck route. At 2 a.m. having taken the car route, got to the city limits and I recall the road going downhill with a serious horseshoe curve with guard rail and I forgot the house behind the rail. Snow and Ice on the road to boot and at the bottom went by a police station and suddenly three cop cars behind us. Forgot to mention wide load at 2 am with no permits nor signs. Got to a motel and went in. Next morning, came out and did a few things to the boat. Spring time clothing in that darn 10 degrees and froze my tush off. Forgot the name of a marina (Mc something) but boat lifted off the cradle. Before leaving Virginny, I washed the owner's boat off while on the cradle with pads wet of course. Lifted the boat with cradle attached as the pads of the cradle was frozen to hull. We all stood in disbelief. I thought it would have been warmer in your neck of the woods. Learned my lesson and never forgot that delivery. Folks very helpful and cordial.

Hey Dave, sounds like you approached Ithaca from Owego. I can't mentally place the horseshoe curve, but definitely low railroad bridge and police station. It's very tight turning onto Rte. 38 through town as you pass by town hall, former jail, and police station. The truck route is about a 2 mile detour. Yeah we're pretty cordial folks, even in the evil grasp of winter. I'm unfamiliar with any marina named Mc....something. If you delivered at the south end of the lake, in Ithaca, then it was probably Johnsons Marina, or Finger Lakes Boating center. They're the only two places I know with a lift. Didn't I see a picture from you a while back where the cradle was frozen to the boat hull during the move? :hijack:

Yes you did. Was there a Mcpherson's
There is a web link available to McPherson Sailing products, but it appears to be inactive. Perhaps when you delivered, they were functional. Doesn't appear to be operational at present.

Leif would have laughed to see a boat on a cradle. :laugh:

Should have seen my daughter driving a truck on I-95 north with a 28 foot beneteau at night with no permit or signage. She learned on the farm early on
