Hi
I've just purchased a 1971 R-26. This forum was a huge help when I went to look at her and helped in my decision to buy the boat. I have a question:
There are 4 plywood frames in the boat. 3 in way of the fwd V birth and one under the cabin door. There are a couple of more holding up the Stbd quater-birth. Are these original? They look like somebody put them in and did not do a very good job. There are no limber holes on the center line of the frames in the fwd section and the wood has rotted. I plan on replacing them but am not sure that they are all needed. I would obvoiusly like the structure of the boat to remain the way Gary Mull thought it should be and would be grateful if anyone had some drawings, info or photos that could clue me in on what was originally there for framing.
Thanks.
