Since it is spring, I get to dream. I'm thinking about purchasing my first cruising spinnaker. We're definitely cruisers...not a racing bone in the body of any of my family members. So, I'm looking for recommendations. Do I go used or new? What sail lofts have people had great experiences with? Thanks, Dave S/V Benediction

Same dream

had it last spring. Ordered one from the chandlery, got to pick the colors, no worries about it being the right size.I ordered the "spinnaker kit" from Hunter, but could have done just as well through the West catalogue. Hunter sent me the wrong block, but were great about getting me the correct one ASAP. That spinnaker is the single best addition I've made. I use it every chance i get! Scott S/V Hello Dolly

dave, I have more A -chutes than I need.

If you interested in buying a used A-chute let me know what your luff measurement is and I will see if I have one. Ted

how about symmetrical too?

Ted, Let me know what you have for a C36 TR, both A-sails and symmetrical. The headsail luff is 43'10", the symm. max luff 46.45, max width 25.8. thanks, jv jvisser@charter.net

I bought used asymmetric

I bought a used asymmetric via the internet. Like you I am a cruiser and didn't feel I needed a new spinnaker. There are many good quality used spinnakers available for about half the price of a new. The list of spinnakers in stock are not always up-to-date on all websites, so I recommend calling the sail lofts once you have an idaa of what you are looking for. The link below is where I found my spinnaker. Spinnaker arrived exactly as advertised and I fly it every chance I get.
