New 'Old' Beneteau Logo

Checked the Beneteau US site recently at:http://www.beneteauusa.com/index.phpSeems they have now dumped that stupid logo of the last few years andnow gone back to the old prancing sea-horse logo. My 1990 Oceanis 390has that old sea-horse logo all over it and she feels like a new boatagain!! Why did they make the change? Criticism or did someone in themarketing dept at Beneteau wake up!

"Old Beneteau" logo

It was a copyright issue in he US that prevented the use of the seahorse as a logo. This was not an issue in France.The issue was finally resolved after several years of fighting it in the US and it can now return to the use of the great "old Seahorse" logo. Welcome back horsie.Rich

Deep Pockets at Beneteau

Rich,I cannot fathom how someone could think that a lawsuit against Beneteau would ever succeed. Their pockets must be so deep as to be almost bottomless!! I guess that old law firm of Sue, Grabbit and Runne are still in business. Glad they lost this time.Peter

Bombardier, a Canadian company

also has deep pockets and owns the rights to the Johnson Marine seahorse logo. They also have copyright laws on their side. The deepest pockets are sometimes kept that way by paying for a product rather than paying lawyers.
