Hello all,

My wife and I purchased a 1976 Oday 25 this weekend. We have never sailed before, but we are anxious to learn. I have been visiting this site since I became interested in this boat and noticed that there is a lot of useful information for experienced as well as inexperienced boaters. I hope to give as much as I ask. I look forward to sharing our experience of modifications, sailing, and whatever else comes our way. I will also be providing a fairly clean copy of the rigging information that came with the boat for others who may need the information.

Welcome Jim! I look forward to seeing any pics that you have of your 76 O'Day 25. We have a 1975 model at our club and the guy loves it. I've sailed it a few times myself and it sailed like a dream. The 75 has the centerboard pendant cable winch mounted down in the cabin on the table pedestal. Is your's set up the same way or did they change it in 1976? Anyway, good luck with the boat.

Welcome to great club Jim. I've had my 76 OD25 for about 5 years after trading up from a 69 ODay Daysailer. Great boat, wonderful support from groups like this one, and tons of fun to be had. You picked a great hobby to share with your wife, and the best boat on which to learn!
