Hello all,

We just purchased a 1999 hunter 380 and the wife is not fond the old mattress. Does anybody have a good source for a new innerspring mattress?

Thanks in advance.

same here. Bought queen size memory foam mattress for the V-berth and cut to fit. Laid on top of the cushions.

Sounds like a winner. with the additional layer do you just use queen flat sheets or do the fitted ones help?

Think about a latex mattress. They are good for 20+ years and will not mold or mildew. If the cover gets soiled you can always have them recovered.

Ikea. Futon mattress. $ 88.00. Use an electric knife to "cut to fit."

The mattress is a "full" size. Buy sheets to match. The "V" berth end of the sheets can be adjusted by tucking the extra sheet material under the new (and improved) mattress.

Ok, We got the mattress and went to work on it this morning. A friend down the dock had advised not to open the box until we had it down there. Well,,we got the box down below and found the damn thing wouldnt fit through the door so drug it back up on the dock. Brought the old pads up for template and marked out with a sharpie.

Oh, it comes in a mattress bag and also has a netting around the foam. We just cut the netting on the corners with scissors.

The best thing I did was buy a corded Quisinart electric knife. No way a cordless will stand up. Make the first cut just an inch or two into the foam and follow your line. then go back a couple times with deeper cuts.

After the cuts, zip it back in the liner, and then fold the plastic shipping bag bock on and duct tape it. Now you can finagle the monster down through the hole.

Love it and worth every bit of sweat.
