Hunter 212 mast, spinnaker, backwards battens.
I bought a 2001 Hunter 212 about a year ago and paid $1,000 for it.
It had been sitting in a slip for over 7 years totally unused.
I paid more for the trailer than the boat.
I would check closely for cracks, especially if it is up north.
Otherwise, that's a very good price.
I don't know how much a mast would cost, but you probably could find one easily enough.
Good luck and keep us informed.
We need more 212 talk on this forum.
BTW, I recently got an asymmetrical spinnaker for mine.
It's a real blast until a big puff comes up and scares the you know what out of you.
Also, I am having a problem with the aft portion of the battens turning backwards when I am on a beat, on either tack.
Has anyone else had that problem, on any boat?
I've made every adjustment I can think of.
My local sailmaker and I are stumped.
And, no, they're not warped.
