Mainsail
Ed -Search the archives for threads on sail choice. There is a lot more involved than just price. Things to consider include the quality of the sail material, the cut, the stiching, the fittings. I replaced my 20 year old main two summers ago and plan to get 20 more out of the new one.Thoughts - I would think full batten - better shape over time and less flogging. I like them for moderate to heavy air over partially battened mains and I think the light are difference is negligable. You can consider very light light air battens if you are concerned. I would do two reef points, cunningham and flattening reef for the most controlable sail. Think about a free footed sail. Much better sail shape control. If not, think about having a sail built with a shelf - though I think that silly b/c you essentially have a free foot with a bunch of extra fabric.I have a Doyle main - set up pretty much like I've described. It rocks. I use it free footed and its great across all the conditions I have experienced from light air up to 40 knots - at which point life is pretty exciting.I would avoid the discount guys unless you're able to buy a brand name sail at a discount. You might want to check the chandlery area of this site for information on Doyle - the prices are very competitive.Justin - O'day Owners' Web
