Cruising sails
Although the UK mylar laminate tape drive sails we have just purchased are sexy looking and considered by most to be racing equipment, it will outlast most dacron sails. This is because it will not lose resin nor get blown out. UK bills it as a multi purpose. Our is very roachy and can be tightened to a blade upwind. I can't believe the difference a well engineered and brand new sail can make in boat speed and fun. If you go with UK for dacron or tape drive, buy from Canada loft in B.C. to take advantage of the exchange rate. We saved over $4,000 on a purchase of Batmain (upper two battens are full)150 genny and number 3. As you know, UK has been making the cruising dacron sails for Hunter for years. Most people are very happy with them and they are very helpful and have the patterns. Doug
