NEW MAIN FOR H26

I am concidering buying a new mainsail and thought it sensible to look at all the options ie; radial cut, large roach, laminated cloth etc. Has any one had any expierance with different cut sails especialy increased roach sails. I have been advised by one sail maker that a sail with a 20" roach and area of 206 sq ft. would be possible. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

My opinion

Paul,Just my opinion, but I find my H26 already has a large enough main. After the winds hit 15kts I have to put in a reef already. I can't imagine needing a larger area. The only thing I want to add is a cruising spinnaker for increased performance off the wind.As for sail construction, most of the racers around here use laminates but replace them every 1-2 years (serious guys). I'll stick with traditional dacron that'll last 5 or more years myself since I don't fancy myself a serious racer.Fair winds,Jim Coveys/v Wampeter
