New lines and arrangement help please

We have purchased a new to us 1991 Hunter Legend 35.5 last year and it could uses a few new lines this season as they are stiff and showing wear. I am wondering the size and type of lines you are using for your boat. The previous owners layout through the clutches had faded labels and in French which I don’t understand unfortunately so please share what position each line runs through your clutches. The reefing lines seem to have a little to much friction so that is my first concern.
Another area I would love comments on is how the previous owner has the main sheet setup at the mast connection. I have attached a few pictures for reference.

If you do not have a manual with running rigging specifications consider the specifications from my Hunter 386 below. Also refer to the Samson line selection guide. I am sure the forum has lots of recommendations. Suggest relabeling your clutches. Here is one source for lables: WEST MARINE Sailboat Control Labels | West Marine

Some of those lines look like new. On others, the covers show a bit of wear, but appear to be in very good functional condition in the pictures. If the covers aren't worn through in places, I'd just wash them to get the stiffness out. If the problem is stiffness, wash them with mild detergent, and rinse well, with a final rinse using fabric softener.

Some of those blocks at the mast base have chipped and broken sheaves. Now is the time to replace those, before they fail or create so much friction that you can't get sails up/down/reefed etc. . That's a higher priority, I think, than old looking but functional lines.

Just my two cents. Your mileage may vary.

[ on edit: I rinse the lines every time we sail. When they get stiff and dirty, I typically wash/soak them in a barrel or bucket and use a hose to rinse. I wash life jackets the same way. I personally haven't used fabric softener, but others say it works well. ]

Thanks Dr JudyB and I agree with you. The main Halyard was replaced last year and the others came with the boat. The outhaul, Topping lift and Reef #2 are in the poorest condition. The mast sheaves are poor and on my todo list this year aswell as replacing a few blocks with chipped and worn sheaves. Great catch on those pictures
