Small thing, I know, but thought it might be of interest.

On my last sail things ran a bit late, and I quickly realized how pitiful my running lights were and how quickly they drained my single battery. Upon returning home, I ordered (3) of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BNWAN4/ref=oh_details_o02_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I only did the bow and stern lights today as I have the mast up. I'll do it later when I run new wiring...among other things.

I had to modify the bow running light a bit so it would hold the bulb, but it's solid now. Before:

Don't mind the upside down lens...didn't notice it until after I snapped the pic.

Front light modification. Sorry for the poor pic quality, my camera didn't want to cooperate:

From what I understand - there aren't any LED's that are yet USGC approved for Nav lights.

Probably not an issue unless there's litigation involved.

FWIW - I converted mine last spring. Really really saves on battery.

That may be the case, don't know. Since I'm on NM and CO lakes I doubt it will be an issue. I'm certainly a lot safer/more visible with these than with the original bulbs. I'll toss the old ones in my "spares" box on the boat just in case.

You may want to flip the lens on the bow light. Red should be on port side and green on starboard side.

Already done; just threw it up there for the pic and didn't notice until after I took the shot.:)

OK, so a photographer I am not. Here are a couple of night shots to give you an idea of the brightness. The camera washed out the colors in the bow light, but it's very distinct and bright.

It's still true that no one makes replacement bulbs for the original JS90 they had on the Mac 25.

Maine Sail...thanks, but that's addressed three times already. Once in the original post, once in post #4, and in post #5.
