Another NJ Sailor
Jimbo,Glad to hear you're considering the 26x. We sail ours regularly out of Townsend Inlet and do frequent coastal sailing as well as trips approximately 30 miles off shore. The most important thing to remember is to keep the ballast full when in the Ocean. We have found the 26x to be a good cruiser with decent handling characteristics. Our 2 main reasons for choosing this vessel were: #1: 9" draft for shallow areas. #2: The ability to drop the mast in order to clear a fixed bridge near our dock. The 50HP engine is also great insurance for when the weather does a quick change. Bottom line...We like the boat alot.Good Luck with your decision.
