Hi, all. Has anyone replaced his or her old Jabsco pump or toilet with the new one that has the "locking" device that supposedly stops backflow? Is so, does it work better than the original? Also, we need to know if the new toilet model will fit in the same installation holes. Thaks, Alice

393 owners have done it

The leaking joker valves have always been a bone of contention with 393 owners. Some have recently upgraded their Jabscos with the new twist and lock pump. Apparently it's been a success. When the pump handle is down it stops waste water from backing in. A twist keeps it in this position. Fairly simple conversion.

Replaced Jabsco Pump This Weekend

We replaced our pump this weekend. We were having issues with the toilet gurgling and refilling partially with the waste water. We did replace the existing pump with the new twist and lock and so far so good, very impressed and easy installation.

Head replacement

I just replace my head last week with a Jebsco 29090-3000. I needed to drill new holes and the the water feed hose needed to be replaced, 2" too short. It was an easy installation. The head was the original installed in 1986. I was not able to sail last weekend, so I have not had a chance to test the twist lock feature. I usually keep the seacock closed when sailing, so I do not know if the twist lock will have value to me.

pump or whole new toilet?

Did you buy just the pump or the whole toilet? The pump at Defender is $102.00 and the whole toilet is $139.00. We're thinking of buying a whole new toilet, and taking off the pump and using the rest of it for parts. Will the new pump fit on a 1992 toilet? It's a compact Jabsco that was installed in the Legend series. It's still fine and we'd rather not drill new holes. Thanks, Alice

Just bought new toilet last year

I just bought a Jabsco toilet last year to solve this same problem and it did not have the backup lock on it.;( My toilet is once agin backing up due to a design problem on my boat as well as the crappy jocker value. I'd like to know if anyone installs this new pump on a 37.5 and if it works. Tom S/V At Last

Need help

I've posted this cry for help a couple times so I see you just installed the same toilet I did. All my hose connections are leaking. I've tried everything: tightened the clamps, repositioned them, use 3! clamps, tightened again. What in the world could be doing this? Are there different sized discharge hoses? The hose slid on the discharge thing on the toilet pretty easily. I did not have to muscle it on. Is there some sort of rubber compound or gasket I can buy? It seems the old hose connections have a rubber type caulk which is still holding after 21 years. If anyone is in the Buffalo NY area and knows of anyone who can fix or look at toilets, please let me know also.

Some other manufacturer makes a bolt-in replacement for the Jabsco (same bolt hole pattern/ spacing). Anybody know who it is?
