I searched several months ago on replacing or reupholstering my Hunter 37 interior cushions. I saw several posts about a place in SW Florida that made total cushions. Now I can't find any reference......

Anyone know the company name or any info on them please?

Thanks.

Have you considerd re-upolstering the existing cushions that you have yourself?
You can literally save thousands of dollars. If you check with marine upholstery shops you will get sticker shock at replacement costs. If you can run the foam cushion material through the laundry & reuse the foam it will also save a ton of $$.
A 37' fot yacht cabin has a lot of cushions to recover. I bought my wife a new sewing machine in exchange for her help in sewing new covers fr our Catalina 30 & they came out great. Just make sure that you use a Sunbrella outdoor rated fabric. My 2 c.

Amen to the thousands of dollars. We had a quote to redo the cushion on my daughter's Cat 25...2K and that was reusing the foam which was still in good shape.

I would think any good upholstery shop or freelance seamstress should easily handle the job. I would not waste my time with a "marine" shop even if you want new foam.

Thanks all for the information. When I approached my wife on doing the cushions she gave me 'that' look. So we are looking around. We may come back to the concept when we get the sticker shock. But frankly having the cushions done by someone was part of the 'buy this boat' agreement. If you know what I mean. ;-)

The US Yacht cushions was the place I had seen before. Also found JSI with this search. 2 options are good. Plus the other ideas.

Here is a post I made sometime back to the same question:

These guys manufactured a complete set of cushions for our H356 for somewhere between $1200 to $1500 and did a great job. They are a Hunter contractor: Address: Gioia Sails South 164 Nix Boat Yard Rd, St Augustine, FL 32084

We are having a new mattress made for our H34 aft cabin. We are using local upholstery shop 5 minutes from the house. The project is not finished yet. But it is moving along. One thing I would add though. Our boat originally came with all the foam wrapped in plastic. The fabric is installed over the top of that. The foam is still as good as the day was new. 30 years later no penetration from any moisture on the foam or anything.

Look inside those covers, too

Please please.... keep in mind...
that while well-cared-for covers can last for several decades, the factory-original foam inside goes FLAT when you sit/lay on it after as soon as 5 to 10 years. Unused or seldom-used cushions will keep their "loft" longer, but cheap foam breaks down by time alone.

Average density of new boat foam is about 1.8 (or sometimes even less) and the firmer Good Foam will be at about 2.6 density.

In '95 we had the flattened-out original foam replaced in our '88 boat, and the upholsterer that did the work (some repair and resectioning was involved) gave us quite an education in choosing foam. He had 40 years (!) experience.

Here we are in 2014, and our cushions still sit without bottoming out and sleep comfortably with no pressure on the old hip bones. Visitors for happy hour always comment on how comfortable our cushions are.

Something for you to think about before you pull the trigger on those spiffy new covers...

;)

While wrapping the foam in plastic may well protect it, the main reason to do this is to make it easier to slide the foam into the covers. Think of the poor gal I met at the Hunter factory several years ago. She did this job 8 hours a day. The plastic covers helped her retain her sanity.
