New Hunter Owner

Well I did it. I made an offer on a 94 Hunter 26 and it was accepted. I had one question though. The boat looks great but at the bottom of the compression pole the wood ring I have seen on other hunters is not there. Is this a big problem or just a cosmetic thing. The compression pole is a little off center maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch. I know the keel rope is thread through there, will it cause a problem later. Can I take the weight off the pole and reposition it with the mast down or should I take it to a deal to repossion and add spacer. So many things to think about now. My hobie was so much simplier, but man you get really wet. Looking forward to a nice sail without getting drenched unless I want it. Any help would be appreciate.

I am not an owner now. The deal fell through. Seller considered another offer so we backed out. Still looking !! Some day I will find the right boat.

Are you sure that you want a trailer sailor?

Carl:Now that this deal if off, are you sure that you want to trailer a boat around? Have you though about having a boat in the Delta? Get a little bigger boat 28-34 and you can sail to the bay and down the coast to Santa Cruz. More sailing ground there than you are likely to see in your entire lifetime. The only down side here is that you cannot sail it in Folsum and Tahoe but there are a lot of advantages to not towing.

Pretty cheesy for the seller to accept your offer and then back out when a better offer came in later. Good luck on the continued search.
