ARGO Hunter 27 EDGE Hull #3

All, I just recently purchased the first Hunter 27 Edge hull #3. I had the opportunity to sail hull #2 as well. This hull is currently making its way around the country from dealer to dealer. My boat has many improvements over hull #2. The boat was a blast to have for our first cruise i made with my wife and Father in law. We left St. Simmons Island and sailed around Jekyll Island, Cumberland Island, Amelia and Fernandina Island to St. Augustine and back. Our boat is a bit tricked out, we had a West Marine 10,000 BTU installed, shore power, 110 outlets, 12V outlets, Marine head, 30 gallon water tank with shower and every other option that Hunter offers for the boat. It was a fun comfortable week.

Congrats, and thanks for posting this

I'm certainly curious to hear more about this boat. Frankly, the marketing aspects of it fascinate me!

Great news and a nice picture show. Tell us more and keep us informed. Is this your 1st, 2nd, 3rd...sailboat. Tell us the history behind your decision.

Hunter 27

Thanks for the replies. This is not my first sail boat however, I did reach a point in my life where I had to make a decision between sailing and spending time with my children whose ages range from a toddler to a teenager.

My teenager gets really bored (imagine that) when there is no wind and wants to tube or wake board with her friends. The sail boat was not cutting it so we sold it and purchased a power boat. It was fun for her but not so much for me and my wife who love to sail.

So, this boat splits the difference. We can sail when we want, and motor and pull a wake boarder and tuber when we need to. Also, it allows us to get to the good sailing spots quickly and manage our time better as I said, we have a toddler also and we work around her nap time.

One of the best things about the Hunter is it is a roomy well designed trailer able sail boat that is easy to launch and use on a normal boat ramp. No messy trailer extensions to fiddlge with so you do not have to hit the tide at dead high tide etc.

We have so much flexibility with this boat in terms of where, when and how we choose to spend our time on the water.

This boat has a large sail area and is very good in light wind or in heavy winds. She is very easy to sail especially with the furling jib option.
