Hunter 336 Lelystad
Hi there,
we are the NEW owners of the 1995 Hunter 336 (Break Free) - former owner AB Lelystad, Netherlands.
Does it need to be changed in the owner's list of this forum? If so, how? Can only the former owner (Albert and Ingrid) cancel out? Does it have any influence if they are listed also?
tks. Jutta

I am not a moderator however I can tell you that it is not the boat but the individuals who are members of this forum. Consequently, all you have to do is enlist with the information pertinent to yourself and of course to your "new-to-you" boat. The former owner can stay on the forum if he wants but of course out of courtesy he should change his profile and take the boat off since it will be under your ownership. Welcome to this forum. You will find a lot of info and knowledgeable people always willing to help with whatever questions. Looking up the archives pertinent to your boat is a good start to help you get acquainted with your new pride and joy. Good luck to you.

Hi Claude,
tks for your response. Yes, we do have a lot to learn and I already checked for some Q and A. Just be patient with me - my English is not so good. We are from Germany and have the Hunter in the Netherlands. We own the boat since May and meanwhile collected lots of experience..... Good to know to get lots of infos in this forum.

We have a 336 in Scotland and I have gained a lot of useful information on the forum since we got our boat.
Good luck and keep asking questions.

Re: Welcome

Hi Neil,
Where do you get Hunter parts from in case they are urgently needed? We had to oder a tiny little light piece (weight below 1.00lb) from the US which did cost US$69.00. However, in addition we had to pay $79 for the fright and €17.50 to 'FedEX. Wonder, if it's cheaper to get parts elsewhere...
Thanks Jutta

Hi Jutta, welcome to the HOC. I have the same FedEx issues ordering motorcycle parts from Germany to Canada ! I find using the mail system is the cheapest way to go if the company will ship that way to me.

Enjoy your boat and ask away. Lots of information available here, they have helped me many times in the past.

fair winds, Bob

So far I have managed to source replacement parts without them having to be Hunter specific. Most things I needed I have either replaced or they have been lewmar or some other readily available make.

Hi,
Say I need a bearig since the steering is worn out a bit. Would this come form Hunter or Yanmar (japanese)? Stupid question - I know. But we have to learn a lot. And guess - we will need a couple of replacement parts.... not only small items.

The steering system is not made by Hunter or Yanmar. Hunter can probably tell you precisely what it is, but your boat being a 96 your steering system was more than likely made by Edson. I would check with the folks (Dave) here at the site as they might be able to help with parts and shipping. If shipping costs are too horrendous, bearings and bushings being normal type items, they might be found easily near you. You can try to locate the parts info on your boat, or perhaps someone on the site might be able to help. Or contact Edson directly: http://www.edsonmarine.com/support/customer_service/index.php

As for Yanmar, they probably have a distributor near you for parts needed. Good luck.
