Peggy, we have just purchased a 94 c-270. My wife is already wishing for a toilet that is easier to clean, more like in the house. what would you suggest we upgrade to when ready, and why. thanks nate

'Cuz there's not much in the way of "household" style toilets that are appropriate to a 27' sailboat. You did, after all, buy a boat, not a condo...there are a whole bunch of things to get used to on a boat...the toilet is only one of 'em. However, cleaning the toilet should be easy--just squirt some C.P. under the rim and walk away. The next flush rinses it out...all there is to it. Better read the articles in the Head Mistress forum reference library. They tell you how to maintain the system, what to use and what not--including household chemical toilet bowl cleaners--to use in it...in fact, most household cleaning products. The current obsession with "antibacterial" products is not only unnecessary, it's harmful to both the equiment and the environment.
