Yesterday, my wife and I went to the lake to take care of a few things on the boat. The biggest project was to replace both halyards. We stitched the old and new together and then wrapped electrician tape around both. The main halyard went smooth as silk. The jib, however, would jam at the block at the top of the mast. Odd because the slice job wasn't as big a bulge as the main halyard connection. Then my wife had a great idea. Put some dish detergent on the splice. We did and voila... new halyards!
