Hi all
I am new to this group. I live in Lynnwood Wa and sail out of Everett.
I just bought a 1966 Cal 30. My wife and I are planning to move aboard some time next summer. It needs a bit of work but is a real Beauty. The previous owners have taken real good care of her. I grew up in a boat shop so I have the skills to deal with it. It needs some gel coat repair. I need to remove the port chain plate and replace part of the bulkhead (water leak from port light). I will remove the starboard one, inspect and re-bed it also.
I need to replace all the stanchion bases (will make new ones from stainless) and add backing plates. I need to do something with the port lights they all need replaced I want thicker lexan and to get rid of the sliders. I have not been able to find replacements so I will probably have to get out the tig torch and make some new ones. A bit tedious but worth it.
Enough for now.
