ok im givin my mom a b-day present i know she will like. She is a very adivd sailer infact they just left me to go lol. Her jib is in bad condition its fairly clean buy the stiching is goin fast. I took measurements of the jib and i got the luff was 25'6" and the width was 15" Its a s2 6.8. I not sure of sail spec size this is what i got. I found another sail its not quite the same size its a 25'10" and a 14' 6" width. Im not sure if that sail will fit or not but this sail is in WAY better condition that my moms.

It sould be close enough

You need to see if A. there is enough clearance at the top of the forestay for the extra 4 inches.(or bottom) B. It is the same type sail, as in hank or or roller furler. and C. the luff tape is the same if a roller furler. The dimensions are close enough, it the other things will work.

You also could get her sail resewn.

Hoist the existing sail to check the fit.

Many choices to choose from....

You could get her sail reconditioned at sailcare.com. If the sail cloth itself is in decent shape they can do the repairs, clean and renovate it to look like new. I've sent two sails to them and they did a great job.

The next options depends on your budget. A brand new sail can be quite costly but would make a terrific gift, but like a Nice N Easy and Ross said, make sure there is enough clearance for a larger luff length. The third option is a used sail. I ordered one from Bacon and Associates at a fraction of the cost of new and am quite pleased with it.

No matter what you choose, new or used, the luff length is the most critical so check to see if you can hoist the extra length otherwise it will be costly mistake to get the sail recut to fit. You're a good son to do this for your mom! She's blessed.
