After 15 years planning to purchase a new furling main and head sail for my Hunter 46. In the past I purchased dacron cross cut sails. What would the forum recommend (tri-radial?) for cruising in the SF Bay and down/up the CA coast?

Hi I have a Beneteau 40 Oceanis with in mast furling . I need new sails . I have three quotes but one surprised me with a tri radial main. The current main is cross cut and the usual fairly flat

We went with cruising laminate sails, (tri-radial) last year and are very happy with the upgrade over our old cross cut dacron sails. The main is slab reefed however not furling. We used our local UK Sails Loft.
I'd interview a bunch of local sail lofts and get quotes and ideas. Fall orders for spring delivery can usually help you save a few $$ too.

Just purchased polyester cruising tri-radial laminate main and head sail sewn to blue water standards, i.e., 4 rows of stitches.
