Here's why
Because not everyone has a computer with old fonts installed, which made it hard to read for others. The current font is standard to virtually every computer still in use today. I can make the size larger, if that woudl help. but believe me, I don't sit up at night trying to figure out new ways to make the site harder to use.

I think it's way to big, as folks with PC's will be able to see about 1/1-2 posts without scrolling... but it's bigger, that's for sure. What do you think?

Don't care for it either
Way too big. We don't like it when someone uses all caps and ask that they don't. This is even worse. It seems to be shouting at us. please go back to the old size font. Make it easy to read without having to scroll constantly.

Change your View
If you go to the top of your screen, click on view, go to text size and click on a smaller option , you can adjust it to a smaller font. Its always better to ask for a solution to a problem than to complain about it. Hopefully this will work for those of you who have difficulty with the change.

I know why you did it...
It happens to all of us when we reach a certain age. But just because YOU need larger print doesn't mean the rest of us do...I already HAVE bi-focals!))

The old font was fine with me. I tried the suggestion about clicking down to the smallest text size using the view option on MSIE, and that does seem to shrink things back to the way they were. AOL 6.0 doesn't appear to have a View option, so if using AOL, you must logon to AOL first, then fire up MSIE & use it to browse hunterowners.com so that you can use the view option.

Phil, It's not just that the fonts for the Recent Activity Forum are much larger, they are no longer same size as the home page and the articles themselves. When I tried using MSIE/View/Text Size to shrink the font on the forums page, it made the fonts on the home and articles pages almost too small to read. Why don't you restore the fonts to the way they were, and if anyone needs larger font, they can use View/Text Size to click to a larger size. Eric

Either the new font is too big or the font used to read the articles is too small. It's a nuisance switching back and forth on the IE View/Text size menu.

Ok, two things have changed here, to both the Recent Activity screen and the posts themselves: - The font face is different. It has been changed from a font that is _not_ on everyone's computer to one that is on pretty darned near everyone's computer and was designed for use on the web. The new font is probably the most common font on the web. It should, at the proper size, be much easier to read. - The size has been brought down to the same scale as the font we use on the home page. I'm viewing it through IE 5 on a PC and it is somewhat smaller than it was, but not unreadable by my poor, tired eyes. I have removed the italics to make it easier to read. - I can say with certainty that, font face for font face, this one is easier to read. If the size is a problem for you let me know. For those of you who have chosen to be rude about this, please understand that this page looks completely different depending on your monitor resolution, operating system, browser settings, and screen size. Just because the 'old' font worked for you didn't mean it was great for everyone. If your complaint is specific to Recent Activity, or the posts themselves, let me know. I can make some changes in the posts that may work better. Keeping your input positive will help me fine tune this. 'This font sucks' is not terribly actionable. Thanks - ph.

I usually find a lot wrong with everything, always trying to play the Devils Advocate. In this case however, I think that Phil's font selection is fine. Every morning I go to the past 24 hours page for all forums. It's like reading the morning newspaper. I look at the heading for each article, and read on if it looks interesting. The current font gives me the same feel as my newspaper. Sit back with a cup of coffee, check out the headlines, and enjoy life. Running a Web site such as this is no easy task. It takes a lot of time, and a good imagination to come up with something new to keep the readers coming back for more. Phil has always been very accommodating when asked to try something new and different. You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.
