Rick-
I reviewed your project link. Thanks for posting it-very helpful but I do have some questions. How hard was it to get all the floor boards out? Really not hard at all. The one under the water heater I left alone. You can't see it anyway. The refrig compressors are not attached to the floor, so they are also not a problem. It is helpful to loosen the furniture even where it isn't attached to the floor to make it easier to remove the floor panels. You just have to remember to put them back in the same order or you will make yourself nuts. What about the ones under the settee where the frig compressor and the water heater tank are? Since we live in Minnesota it seems that the time to pull all the floorboards would be after the boat gets hauled. Then take all the boards home for storage and do the application of the laminate next spring. That's what I did. Notice I put them all out in the garage in the same placement it appeared on the boat. This is important since the Lonseal teak & holly pattern isn't the same width as that on the original laminate. So, you want to be sure you have the flooring installer match up the seams so that the sight lines are the same from panel to panel if that makes sense. And, I'd use an installer rather than DYI for this expensive product and a happier experience. BTW, I'm from the Twin Cities; next time I'm there, I'll let you know. Do you have any suggestions for how to repair dings in the floorboards? I have a few pretty good sized divets. Well, of course, if you are going to put a laminate down, minor ones don't matter. For a couple of larger ones, I just used bondo. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks,
POTL
