Has anyone had to replace their engine? I have the 8hp Renault for my Hunter 27 that may need replacing. Any ideas on cost?

Used Nate?

You need to do a "Forum Archive" search. Many of us have rebuilt or replaced with newer or brand new engines. I have a bigger(3QM30) but older Yanmar in my garage. In the boat is a beautiful 2QM20 yet to be removed. It is spoken for by another H27 owner. He is also undecided about replacing a 2QM15 with my 2QM20. A new engine whether it is a Yanmar or Bukh or Westerbeke or Vetus will cost about the same. Figure around $5000. to $7000. depending upon on whether you do the work yourself. Bukh: http://www.lsm-diesel.dk/engelsk/index.htm Vetus: http://www.vetus.com/frame-cat.htm Yanmar: http://www.marinedieseldirect.com/yanmar/shopping/

I bought a new Vetus from Marine Engines inc, in Holliston Mass. Price wise they are great, I don't know how they stack up compared to the rest of the engines, but everything I have heard is great. I don't know what the web page is, but if you search the internet for 1-800- runs new you will find the guy
