A few weeks back there was a discussion on Pump-Out Carts that led into many pump-out sub topics.
Part of that thread brought up using Cam Lock Deck Pump-Out fittings.
I didn't know there was such a thing, guess because I never asked. Our Pumpout boats use a wide rubber cone to create the vacuum seal when pumping out. It's hard on my C30 to keep a good seal and twice in 6 years I've been sprayed when head to toe during the process.
Once I learned about the Cam Lock Deck Pump-Out fitting I vowed to install one before pumping out again.
Of Course Catalina had the good graces to use a bastard threaded deck fitting and the standard fitting sizes wouldn't work.
So last week I installed a new deck waste fitting that would accept the Nozall fitting. On the C30 there was easy access to the hose barb side of the deck fill. A heat gun, strap wrench and an hour of work and it was done.
Saturday was our last pump out for the season and using the cam lock Nozall was a piece of cake and no chance of a shower. (bad joke in there somewhere)
Should have done that when I bought the boat in 2018. If only I'd have known.
