(H25.5) My traveler car is worn out so I need to replace it.

Does anyone know if the current crop of cars from Schaefer, Harken, Lewmar will fit our old Rutgerson track?

I've been searching the web and comparing dimensions but can't seem to find a car that will fit.

Attaching a picture of my old car with dimensions.

Cheers,
Steve

just compare the other brands dimensions with what you have and that should tell the story....

Thanks, Woody.

I compared my track size to a bunch of data on all the mfg websites (Lewmar, Ronstan, Schaefer, Harken).

There are so many options that are close, but still question marks. Like the wheel size on the Schaefer 72-32. Specs don't show the wheel sizes. If the wheel turns out to be 1/16 too big it won't fit inside the channel of my track!

I was hoping someone had been down this road before.

Cheers, Steve

Have you considered changing the track and car. Check out Garhauer about a custom drilled track.

UPDATE:
I was able to track down a dealer for the original Rutgerson brand track/car. Turns out Rutgerson is still in business (and they're a Swedish company).

Anyhow, the car on their website seems reasonably priced at $140, especially since I don't want to replace the who track system. The shipping from Sweden is going to be steep, but I'll probably do it anyway. http://www.rutgerson.se/

I sent them my track dimensions, just waiting to hear if they think it will fit.

Thanks for the ideas guys!

Steve
