I have a 78 Catalina 30,I'd like to put a clear hatch in the v-berth. Does anybody know if someone makes one or has any ideas how to refit my present one.

Go to Catalina Direct At www.catalinadirect.com They have just what you are looking for. The hatch fits your opening. Its not a hatch like on the newer 30's but if you are looking for light in the V birth this will work.
Forget the one sold over the counter. One guy in our fleet had Tap Plastics mre a 3/8 inch lexan one. It was beautiful so I did it too! email me and I'll walk you through it.....Cost $40. for the material. sail1752@aol.com
So now you have some options for finding the right hatch for you, check out the blinds in the Catalina Store (go back to the home page). The worst thing (to me) about clear hatches is that it's so bright in the morning. The blinds the store offeres are VERY cool! LaDonna
