New bow rail (pulpit) for H23.5
The bow rail+stem fitting on my 1995 H23.5 was ripped off in several pieces and badly bent in a hurricane. I need a replacement, but so far I've come up with nothing short of fabricating a new one for $1-2K. I called Southcoast in Florida, who I think fabricated the original bow rail, but they were no help at all. There are lots of used bow rails from other boats available, but almost of them attach to the deck with a horizontal flange, unlike the H23.5, with its stanchions attached to the sides of the hull without a flange. And I would have to supply a new separate stem fitting. Any ideas for how best to proceed? There must be other small 1990s Hunters with the same pulpit out there which have been totalled and are available for parts, unlike mine, which I chose to try to restore.
