Time for a Mac "0"

Hi Yawl, That "Classic" interior just doesn't do it for me. The "X" is better but there are other alternatives to consider that are now more popular. Both Hunter (260) and Catalina (250) have gone to an open layout that would work for the 26M too. (maybe a Mac 26 Oh!?) With a swing-up ladder, the head and galley in the rear of the cabin would actually increase aft berth privacy without limiting access. The daggerboard case could support the salon table at two levels; one for use as a table, the other for supporting berths (fold down/up also for access to fwd hatch). Pockets on the dagger case would be handy for holding maps, utensils, etc. To recap: 1. Forward u-shaped salon seating with daggerboard case thru center of table. 2. Galley and head near cockpit. 3. Foldup ladder for rear berth access. This is do-able because of the daggerboard! A centerboard would limit floor space or reduce headroom. Just a thought. Catalina 25 on related link. MArk
