Peggie, I just ordered your book. But I'm hoping you can answer a question sooner. We are going to take posession of our new Hunter 36 this week. Since the head is new too I am hoping to use the right chemicals and follow the right procedures from day 1. What should I do and what should I use before we "christen" the system? Thanks, Nancy

All that's needed to christen the system...
Use Odolos in the tank...just flush it down the toilet when you use the toilet the first time. Follow the directions on the bottle for continued use. Is the toilet manual or electric? Whichever, read the instructions that should come with it--and KEEP them...along with all the other manuals and literature for the equipment on your boat. When did you order my book? If last week, it went out Saturday. If today, I'll get it out tonight so you'll have it by the weekend. The chapter "Flush With Success" should include all the instructions you need...meanwhile, I'll answer your questions about how to flush and pumpout.
