See my post on the where is everybody. My boat has the holes for the track I do not think it was a good Idea to begin with so most people removed it. My bench seat over the portipotty was extended and a cushion was made for it so now I can lay in the real small V-berth might work for you. Cliff

Thanks for the input. I also wondered about the cockpit drain holes. Aren't they a little small? Did anyone ever put in a larger one that drains out all the water? As they are now, some water remains because the hole is above the c'pit floor. Ideas? Jim Miller

Jim A friend of mine installed a extra drain hole in the center between the two that are there now. It works real well its on my list to do as soon as we get the boat out for the season. Cliff

Cockpit Drain Holes

Jim: I have posted about this in the past, and didn't get any response. This is a really poor design feature in an otherwise terrific boat. The best I could come up with is to install a drain plug where the molded cockpit depression is for the external gas tank. However, this would require a hose connection to another hole drilled through the transom, and off center to accomodate the rudder. After looking at it further, and realizing that the starboard side rides a little lower than the port side because of the water tank, galley, etc, I decided that this fix would probably not solve the problem. There would still be a little pooling back by the starboard drain when wet in the cockpit. I too would be interested in other proposals for this problem. Scott

cockpit drain

Hi Scott. Thanks for the input. I think a fix might be to just enlarge the hole that is there, making sure to get the lower lip of the hole at or below the c'pit floor. Careful drilling! Jim
