Thank you! I would love it if someone updated it to bring us from the end of that to the present. Achushnet Corporation is still in existence, making Titleist golf balls. And, it's still the biggest port in the nation for sea scallops.Very nice, @jviss !
Closed this morning. Here's my place:
It's too big for just me, but i's the best neighborhood in New Bedford, in my opinion. Built in 1925, like a brick sh*t house! Truly excellent workmanship, woodwork, etc. I even received the original plans, from the New Bedford architect.
If you watch the video, I'm on the corner by the park where the zoo, tennis courts, etc., are located. So a nice 2 mile walk around Buttonwood Park right outside my door. And only a mile and a half from the historic district. and three miles from the New Bedford Yacht Club (which I hope to join).
Yes, thanks very much! It was built in 1925, so long after the whaling industry, almost 100 years after, but still, maybe a captain or an owner or some such person. I'm still in a bit of a shock, but it's a fine house and I'm sure I'll get comfortable there.
