New battery placement '89 285

I am replacing my batteries. 1 12v start and 2 6V Trojan 105's for house. The originals in their battery boxes were too high for the aft berth bunk boards to sit on their frames. These are even higher! Any ideas about where to install them. Whereever they end up, some modifications are going to be involved. I am assuming it is best to keep them centered and close to the bottom as possible. Thanks Sandy (gal-learning lots of new stuff:) ).

Battery Placement

I installed my 12v in the sail locker. Then I have 2 - 12 volt gels and an inverter underneath the aft berth. The nice thing about gel batteries they can be laid on their side without concern. Mine has been like that since 2002 with no trouble. I am not sure if you can get 6 volt gels but I would think someone would carry them. Kevin
