I was recently instructed by my supplier to two new house batteries (US Battery group 31) that I should run down some before given them their initial charge.

Have anyone ever heard of this and if so how low would be, appropriate?

Thank you - Neal

Yes, it is a very good idea to deep cycle them to the 50% SOC range a few times and charge back to 100%. Deep cycle batts take a while to break in. You won't see your rated capacity until you've done a number of deep cycles and re-charges..

So, since I wasn't able to reset the Victron monitor for an accurate state of charge measurement 50% would be what voltage just to me sure?

Would it still be ok parallel the two batteries while drawing them down?

Thanks
