New A/C standards???

Any air conditioning trade people out there know if the new 13 SEER standards will apply to marine A/C units beginning Jan.'06? Hoping to install A/C on the boat next year and curious if these new efficiency rules will apply to marine units. Could make an already tight installation virtually impossible.

The new standards

will only apply to residential equipment. Also it only applies to the manufacturing of equipment. Therefore it will still be legal to install the older equipment. The catch will be, availability of older lower SEER equipment. Most manufactuers switched over and stopped making these in August/ Sept. In Phoenix we already have limited supplies of the 10/12 SEER equipment (Trane).So "Don't Worry-Be Happy!"Dwain
