Anyone seen the new 426 firsthand? What do you think? Is it a move forward, is it THAT nice? or just a remake of the 410?

I saw it . . .

at the Newport boat show, hull #1. My wife and I are taking it for a test sail this Saturday courtesy of Sailing Specialties in Mystic. Chris s/v Tidesong

Curious about winches

The 426 looks absolutely spectacular, both inside and out. I just have one question. Since there doesn't appear to be much clearance between the arch and the winches, I was wondering whether your hands might hit the arch when grinding the winch after tacking. Probably not, since I'm sure Hunter wouldn't design the boat that way. Any thoughts. PS. The 426 will probably be my next boat in a few years.

not your fathers 410

Saw this boat at the Newport show. It is another Glen Henderson design and is not a Hunter design or re-make. There is radical bow hollow (performance); a squared off cockpit (not the rounded style like the 410s, 450s etc); it's a deck salon with step-downs into the. fore and aft cabins and a ton of headroom (has to be close to 7 feet)in the main salon; has options ranging from washer/dryer (yes, in the aft cabin there's room for a washer/dryer!) to a bow thruster for those of us who are dock challenged. It's really well thought out and on the surface looks like a fast design.
