New 322 owner with some some questions..

Some of these might sound silly, but I hope to get your help-
1) in the head is a storage box of some sort next to the sink-what is it's purpose?
2) am I missing something or did they not install a cigarette lighter (alternate power souce) on these boats? My 272 had one, and I am surprised that there isn't one aboard this one
3)How do the vents work in the main cabin over your head?

I may or may not be of help, but I am assuming the storage box is for
trash/ klenex, etc. because there is already a cubbord w/sliding doors.

As far as I know, any cigarette lighter is owner installed...our 272 LE did not
have a cigarette lighter although I did buy one is is living it's life un-installed in my dock box, w/appropriate wiring, etc. I actually got it for an alternative
source for the gps power if needed. I was going to install the lighter near the wheel so the gps could draw off the battery when night sailing.

The vents on my friends 302 were nicro solar vents which were not dependable. You may have the same vent(s).

The 302 is a great sailing, good looking sail boat....Congratulations

Are there dorade boxes on deck? This was an option so you may or may not have them. They are passive vents meaning they work by wind blowing in them. If you have solar vents I too find them unreliable after a couple years. Mine still work in the sun but the batteries and recharging capability is fried so they don't work at night. I tried a new battery but it didn't work.

My 322 has 12 plug next to main electrical panel as well as one located on the side of the rear berth hanging locker (only found it last fall) . As for the rest of your questions the others have pretty much answered them. Good luck with you boat. I have been very happy with mine and she has lived up to all of our expectations.

Have a 322 as well, so here is some info I haven't seen yet in previous answers:

1) that "box" next to the sink in the head should have a lid, and it is use to put your stuff and keep them dry when using the shower

2) no 12v cigarette lighter, though many have added them (very easy)

3) you ask how the vents in the main salon work correct? Those are always open, and help with ventilation when all else is closed. The head and aft berth have solar vents.

Hope you enjoy the 322, great boat!

Hey, I just got a 322 as well and was also wondering what that bathroom box was for...... I was thinking beer cooler overflow, or for brewskis while on thepotty!
